What is the vitamin D?
What is the vitamin D?

Vitamin D is one of the essential vitamins we need to maintain a good health. From sun exposure our body produce synthesized vitamin D through our skin, from which we nutrify. With the help of magnesium, supplemented vitamin D are metabolized in the liver, and with the enzymes produced by the kidney it transforms them to hormones that binds to function in many parts of the body. The immune response underlies against many of today's diseases. Vitamin D here play a big role of being an immunomodulator, meaning regulating the immune response.

This Vitamin has an endless of benefits that could be mentioned somes as the following:

·        It supports healthy blood circulation and blood pressure by increasing the level of nitric oxide in the blood.

·        It is essential for the absorption of calcium, which is one of the main building blocks of bone.

·        It regulates the calcium balance and ensures that the muscles and bones are healthy.

·        It increases the size and the volume of fiber muscles type II. These fibers provide stronger and faster action.

Why is vitamin D deficient in most of us, determines many problems such as fluctuations in mood, allergies and intestinal problems, fatigue and sleepiness?

The half-life of vitamin D in the body is about 15 days. In other words, every 15 days, the level of vitamin D in the body reduces by 50%. For example, it is expected that the level of vitamin D in the blood of a person is 50 ng/ml, it will decrease by about half in 15 days. Which is a very short cycle, so once it gets into our body, it depletes quickly. Accordingly, experts say that the ideal use of vitamin D is in daily doses, while monthly and annual use is not ideal for the human body. There are many opinions about the vitamin D level range, which is considered ideal for adults. However, 12-20 ng/ml is considered as low vitamin D in children, and 30 ng/ml for adults. These values are commonly low in the society; It depends on many reasons such as not being exposed when UVB rays are present or using sunscreens for skin protection, magnesium deficiency, being overweight etc... Many problems such as bone pain, frequent and recurrent infection problems, inability to lose weight, weakness, fatigue, hair and nail problems appear in vitamin D deficiency. These problems tremendously reduce the quality of life. A daily 10 to 15 minutes exposure to UVB interpreted to be sufficient dose of synthesized vitamin D. Yet, we should keep in mind that scrubbing with shower gel and soap within 24 hours after sunbathing impairs the absorption of the synthesized vitamin D. not to mention the fact that the synthesis of Vitamin D decreases with age, and exposure to sun for long time to get vitamin D turn out also to be harmful and increase the risk of skin cancers. Don’t miss out vitamin D, treat well yourself and be healthy.
